The AEER President delivered a speech at the World Scientific and Engineering Congress (WSEC) at the EXPO 2017 in Astana

Yu.P. Pokholkov, president of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia, took part in the World Scientific and Engineering Congress "Energy of the Future: Innovative Scenarios and Methods of their Implementation" WSEC-2017, held on June 19-20 in Astana, Kazakhstan, as part of the international exhibition EXPO-2017 .

The Congress was devoted to topical problems of science and education in the field of energy, renewable energy sources and society sustainable development. Among the key speakers were academics, ministers, Nobel laureates and other representatives of scientific and educational institutions, engineering companies and government. In total, more than 1,000 people from 80 countries took part in the Congress.

Professor Yu.P. Pokholkov was a session speaker within section "Engineering Education and its Role in Society Sustainable Development: New Approaches, Modern Challenges", the block "Scientific Staffing" with a report on "Creating Specific Environments for Forming the Worldview of Sustainable Development for Future Engineers". The Association was also represented at the congress by the AEER Vice-President, the rector of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, prof. P.S. Chubik with a welcoming speech and a report on "Engineering education and its role in society sustainable development: new approaches, modern challenges". Within the framework of the visit to Kazakhstan, P.S. Chubik solemnly presented the anniversary medal "25 years of AEER" to the president of the Kazakhstan Association of Engineering Education, the rector of KazNU al-Farabi, professor, academician G.M. Mutanov.
