News from partners26.04.2011 Dear 2011 Global Colloquium Participants: The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) invites you to the annual Global Colloquium, which brings together the world's leaders in engineering education. This year’s Colloquium will take place in Shanghai, China at the Shanghai International Conference Center. This year, ASEE is partnering with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, working under the theme of "The Future of Engineering Education in the Age of Globalization". The colloquium, held previously in Beijing, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, Cape Town, Budapest and Singapore, with the assistance of engineering education organizations from the host country, links engineering educators across international borders and brings together teachers, researchers and corporate colleagues who would otherwise never have an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and perspectives. CALL FOR PAPERS Please note: all papers will be presented as either Contributed Oral Presentations in concurrent session held on Monday and Tuesday, October 24 and 25, 2011 or as posters in the Contributed Poster Session on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 and 26, 2011. Submission Process Deadlines
The official language of the conference is English. All papers for the contributed papers presentation session(s) must be submitted and presented in English. Abstracts Abstracts are encouraged to address one of the three colloquium themes, however abstracts will also be considered in a general category. Abstracts should contain the following:
Abstracts should be no more than 500 words in length. A set of three to five key words must also be submitted. Abstracts must be in English. Abstract submission must take place through Monolith, ASEE’s paper management system (click on the 2011 Global Colloquium). The colloquium theme will be explored in three tracks:
Coalitions and partnerships, both inter and intra, between the academy and a range of stakeholders are central to the success of these efforts. Contributions describing successful implementation of creative strategies are invited in each area, preferably making references to the task of meeting humanity’s growing appetite for clean energy and clean water.
