September 7-8, 2017 on the basis of KNRTU (Kazan), the International round table "Staffing of enterprises of the oil and gas chemical complex: engineering pedagogy development issues" was held.

September 7-8, the Kazan National Research Technological University hosted the International Round Table "Staffing of enterprises of the oil and gas chemical complex: engineering pedagogy development issues ", included in the program of the Tatarstan Oil and Gas and Chemical Forum.

The organizers of the event were:

• The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan;
• Kazan National Research Technological University KNRTU;
• Association for Engineering Education of Russia AEER;
• International Federation of Engineering Education Societies IFEES;
• International Society for Engineering Pedagogy IGIP;
• European Society for Engineering Education SEFI;
• National Training Foundation;
• Russian Union of Chemists;
• Association of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

More than 130 representatives of the scientific and pedagogical community and business community from Russia, the USA, Portugal and other countries took part in the round table, the largest domestic and foreign specialists in the field of engineering education, representatives of the basic universities of PJSC Gazprom, national research universities, managers and specialists of personnel services of branch enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The program included more than 30 presentations on the problems of training personnel for the oil and gas chemical industry, the development of engineering education and engineering pedagogy in Russia and the world in the information society, the organization of cooperation between universities and the industry in the training of qualified personnel.

The Association for Engineering Education of Russia was represented by Professor S.I. Gerasimov, director of the AEER Accreditation Center. His speech was entitled "Engineering Education in Russia: Current state, Problems, Prospects".

On the same day, a working meeting of representatives of the main universities of PJSC Gazprom took place. Colleagues discussed the strategy for the International Network Scientific Conference "New Standards and Technologies of Engineering Education: the Opportunities of Universities and the Needs of the Oil and Gas Chemical Industry - Synergy-2017". The final plenary session of the conference is scheduled for December 4-6, 2017 at the Kazan Scientific and Technical Center.

The main trends, the main problems and the ways of their solution were summarized in the list of recommendations on staffing of the enterprises of the oil and gas chemical complex adopted at the round table. The first step, according to the unanimous opinion of the round table participants, should be the development and support of programs based on the collection of statistical data on the needs of enterprises in certain specialists.
