President of the Association attended the meeting of the Committee on Professional Education of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

On June 29 in Moscow the meeting of the Committee on Professional Education of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held, at which AEER President Yury Pokholkov reported on efforts of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia and of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) to improve engineering education in Russia”.

The meeting was attended by more than 50 people including representatives of university and scientific community, industry, the RF State Duma and officers of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as representatives of the RF CCI Foundation on support of professional education.

The meeting approved recommendations for the legislature on the need for drafting of a law on engineering activities in Russia that would regulate procedures and criteria for certification of professional qualifications of engineers. Importance of work on the establishment in Russia of the system of public and professional accreditation of engineering educational programmes and the system of professional engineers certification was emphasised in the speech of Chairman of the Expert Council on Legal Issues of the Committee on Education of the RF State Duma N.N. Gritsenko.
