President of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia Yury Pokholkov participated in the Parliament Hearings "Development of Engineering Education and its Role in Technical Modernisation of Russia"

12 May 2011 at the initiative of the Education Committee of the RF State Duma the Parliament Hearings "Development of Engineering Education and its Role in Technical Modernisation of Russia" were held. At the hearings President Yury Pokholkov spoke on behalf of the AEER on assessment of the state of engineering education in Russia on the basis of the materials of studies conducted by the Association for Engineering Education of Russia in 2011-2012, as well as specific proposals to be included into the Recommendations, in particular, need to develop and adopt Federal Programme "Development and Improvement of Engineering Education in Russia" as the main instrument of cardinal and systematic modernisation of engineering education and significant increase of its role in modernisation of Russian economy.
