President of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia Yury Pokholkov participated in the enlarged meeting of the Council of the Association of Technical Universities

On 12 March 2011 the enlarged meeting of the Council of the Association of Technical Universities was held, where AEER President Yury Pokholkov made a report on the state of engineering education in Russia and the ways of its improvement and modernization.

The meeting was attended by rectors and representatives of higher educational institutions, representatives of industrial enterprises, organizations and scientific institutions, ministries and federal agencies, public organizations, academic community and media.

On the meeting the issues of development of engineering education, enhancing the role of technical universities in meeting the challenges of modernization and technological development of economy were discussed in detail.
